Q. Why aren't all the finishes available for all of the images listed?

A. Some computer enhanced images are not suitable for certain types of printing materials. For instance, a frosted glass framing effect around an image is distorted when printed on canvas. In order to protect our buyers from ordering incompatible surfaces, we've listed only those for each print we feel will best enhance that image. We will honor special requests when possible with a disclaimer.

Q. Why can't I order the image I chose in 24 x 26?

A. The images are available in the sizes according to the original size of the file. The photographic images offered have been captured using high end digital cameras. In some cases, an image has been cropped to contain only the most important or interesting details. Cropping decreases the size of the image. If enlarged too much, the image loses quality.

EDGE DETAIL LOST

Q. The photo I ordered had more detail on the edges than the print I received. What's up with that?

A. The orignal digital file contains a specific ratio of data which did not perfectly translate to the larger size. For instance, if an original image is in a 5x7 format, enlarging to 18x24 changes the aspect ratio. Therefore, the final image will contain only the data which fits within the new dimensions. In order to fill the length or width of the paper, some imagery in the other dimension may be lost. Note the red masking which demonstrates possible edge trim.

HOW TO CARE FOR PHOTOS AND PHOTO PRODUCTS

Q. What's the best way to care for Photographs and photo products?

A. Glad you asked!

Prints: While all of our print images are printed on archival quality paper and canvas materials, eventually UV rays will effect photos over time. We recommend a few simple guidlines to help maintain optimal quality of your prints:

  • Hang prints away from direct sunlight
  • Keep them as dust free as possible to avoid filming and scratches
  • Have them mounted under UV safe glass
  • For best results, have your prints mounted by a professional (we can help you with this - please contact us by email or phone.)
  • Never use clear acryllic coatings or coverings that are not specifically rated photosafe
  • If hanging in or near a kitchen, cooking area, or bath, be sure to mount under glass (We do not recommend hanging your photos where they will be subject to steam or high moisture without adequate ventilation.)

Melamine, Ceramic, Porcelain or Glass Printed Products: For long lasting image quality, hand wash with mild soap or wipe with a damp soft cloth and dry immediately with a soft lint free cloth. Harsh dishwasher detergents and high temperatures will damage and scratch the surface and image of your product.

Apparel: Machine wash inside out on gentle cycle in cool water. Use lower dryer temperature. Wash with like articles and avoid mixing with jeans or other stiff fabrics that could scratch the printed image during agitation. 

SECURITY ALERT

Q. "This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?" Is it safe?

A. The slide gallery on the front page of the website contains cookies needed in order to function properly - they "remember" load order and so forth. Some of the security features on our website also contain tracking cookies which are linked to our site for us to have permission to use the payment services we employ. These cookies are harmless and only provide feature functionality. Yes, it's perfectly safe - when you see these alerts, simply click "yes." If you respond "no," the image link to the device will be "X'd" out. No harm done either way.

SHIPPING

Q. What shipping methods do you use?

A. For most products and prints, we ship First Class or Priority USPS. Keep in mind processing time for your order is generally 1-2 business days for printing and shipping takes 2-6 business days depending on your location. Very large and framed prints may be shipped by UPS. In the future, we'll be adding additional shipping features.

Q. Do I have to become a member for discounts?

A. Yes, unless you're a member of any US Military Branch. Becoming a member at Colorado Colors is a privilege. You will have all your information on file to save time for future orders. Your personal information will never be used for any purpose other than your orders so it's to your benefit to become a member. You will also receive updates on new products, specials and member-only discount incentives. There's no reason not to sign up and take advantage of our friends-only discounts. 

Q. Why do you afford Special Discounts to all US military personnel?

A. Providing a special discount is one small way we can say thanks to the men and women who serve our country to protect our freedom. It's the least we can do! ♥♥♥
